About Me

Throughout my illustrious 20-year career in Primary Education, I have not only occupied numerous pivotal roles but have consistently excelled in each, leaving an indelible mark on the educational landscape. My dedication to continuous learning, my passion for evidence-based research, and my unwavering commitment to the betterment of English education have propelled me to the forefront of educational leadership in Harrow and beyond.
Most recently, I have gained my ILM L7 in coaching and mentoring and have had the pleasure of coaching a number of senior school leaders and business managers. Adding coaching to my resume means that I am better able to empower the leaders I work with, develop leadership styles and create coaching cultures in all environments. As well as updating and further developing the L5 Coaching Apprenticeship, I am also delivering this apprenticeship to learners from a variety of sectors including education, business and the NHS, thus demonstrating my ability to train learners from a variety of backgrounds and my commitment to developing others.
I have held several key positions, including Assistant Head, English Lead, Curriculum Lead, ECT Induction Tutor, CPD Lead, Key Stage 2 Moderator, and the prestigious role of an Associate of the Teacher Development Trust. This extensive experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of educational leadership, curriculum development, and teacher training.

One of my proudest achievements was leading the English Hub for Harrow from 2016 – 2024. In this role, I not only demonstrated my expertise in English pedagogy but also showcased my ability to design and deliver impactful training programs. I collaborated with educators both within and beyond the borough, ensuring that the training I provided remained cutting-edge and relevant to the evolving educational landscape. This approach not only secured enthusiastic teacher engagement but also facilitated the seamless implementation of these strategies in schools. My close collaboration with the Local Authority allowed me to identify and address national and local trends, tailoring training to suit specific needs, thus ensuring our educators remained at the forefront of educational practice.
The effectiveness of my training programs is underscored by consistently receiving 100% positive feedback from participants. School improvement partners and OFSTED have recognised the tangible impact of the strategies derived from my training, further validating the quality of my work.
In 2018, my expertise led to my appointment as the Harrow Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) for English, where I extended my support to fellow professionals seeking to refine their English curriculum. My contributions have empowered schools to enhance their English provision, establishing tailored training schedules aligned with their School Development Plans (SDP) and performance targets. Through this role, I have played a pivotal role in elevating the quality of English education across the borough.
As the Key Stage 2 Moderator for the Local Authority, I have taken on the responsibility of leading subject-specific and writing moderation across our cluster of schools. This collaborative effort has fostered a shared understanding of expectations in each year group and subject, resulting in the creation of a standardised unit of work for all year 6 students. This initiative ensures a consistent baseline for year 7 teachers to build upon, fostering a seamless transition between key stages.
Diversity and inclusivity in the curriculum are principles I hold dear. I have actively championed the cause of a diverse curriculum by crafting school-specific units, enriching existing modules, and ensuring a rich selection of literature for our students. By networking with cluster schools, I identified a borough-wide need for curriculum diversification, leading to our school becoming a ‘Diverse Curriculum’ Learning Hub for Harrow. I have provided training and support to other schools, helping them embrace diversity in their curriculum, thereby fostering a more inclusive and equitable educational environment.
My journey as an Associate of the Teacher Development Trust has provided me with invaluable insights into effective Continuing Professional Development (CPD), adult learning dynamics, and optimal CPD organization. These insights have been seamlessly integrated into all my training programs and shared during training sessions for fellow educational leaders in the borough, further elevating the quality of professional development within our educational community.
In summary, my extensive experience, unwavering dedication, and track record of success in Primary Education make me a true asset to any educational institution or initiative. I am committed to the ongoing pursuit of excellence and am poised to continue making a profound impact on the world of education.
